Alice & Rob's Stylish Winery Wedding

Background:

We meet at University and after 8 years of love, friendship and travelling the world together Rob proposed at our Bondi beach pad on a Saturday morning in bed with a ring engraved in Latin “for ours is a big love”. We celebrated with a morning swim and afternoon champagne with our best friends. We designed the engagement ring together.

The Wedding:

Our wedding was on the 4th of March 2016. The ceremony and reception were both at Cupitt’s Winery in Milton. We love the ocean but are both originally from the country so getting married at winery by the sea was the perfect setting. We wanted to make a weekend of the celebrations and for the venue to be private and intimate. The property has a beautiful a rustic sandstone winery, rolling hills, farm animals and amazing sunsets!

Wedding Gown (the most important part!)

I researched Karen Willis Holmes on bridal blogs and Instagram and loved the style of the dresses. I spent the weekend with my mum going to a number of bridal stores. I tried on the 'Annika' gown and loved the lace and train but didn’t want to go strapless. I dealt with Hannah-Kate in the Paddington, Sydney Store and she was amazing. We added off-the shoulder lace sleeves and lowered the back and then it was my perfect dress.

Fashion

The bridesmaids wore matching silk navy dresses from Rodeo Show they all looked stunning! The groomsmen got their suits from Brent Wilson and ties and shirts from MJ Bale

What accessories did you choose to finish your gown and also for those in your bridal party? Veil and Earrings both from Karen Willis Holmes and for the girls I bought Samantha Willis earrings as a thank you gift.

Where did you get your shoes from? Silver/Strappy Jimmy Choo Heels from (Net-A-Porter)

The Wedding Details:

Our approach was an elegant, romantic, rustic wedding. I was so happy with the way it came together on the day. I got my inspiration from: The Lane, Hello May Magazine, Pinterest and Instagram.  We didn’t do DIY we bought together a bunch of amazing suppliers so in the lead up to the day we could enjoy spending quality time with our family and friends without having to think about the small details.

What advice would you give brides organizing their wedding? Don’t sweat the small stuff! Enjoy the planning and have fun through the process; it is such an exciting time in your life. Extend the celebrations with welcome dinner and a recovery brunch. It is so rare to have all of your favourite people in the one place, we wanted to maximise on the time that we spent with our guests. Steal a moment together during the night to take it all in!
