With traveling being a large part of their relationship and their lives, it only made sense for this beautiful couple to get married overseas and they found the absolute perfect spot. Bea and Raye eloped in an intimate ceremony in a Tuscan castle straight out of a fairytale.
On the proposal
In 2016, Bea and Raye took a trip to Greece and their final stop before returning home was Santorini. On their first night there, Raye ordered a bottle of champagne while they watched the sunset and at that moment, he asked Bea to marry him.
On the venue
Bea and Raye were married in a castle in Tuscany which they rented through Airbnb. The couple knew they had to get married in Italy as it holds a special place in their hearts as Bea spent time travelling and studying in Italy and Raye’s family origins are Italian. “When we were searching for venues, we came across Castello di Valle and knew it was perfect for us with its natural charm, character and history.”
All the styling details
With such a beautiful venue, the styling was kept minimal and classic. It was important to Bea and Raye that their wedding was intimate and had a communal feel where everyone felt engaged and at ease. “We wanted to stay true to who we are, so we kept it relaxed, simple and organic. We tried to focus on the most important elements of the day, leveraging the natural magic of the space.”
Bea actually had another dress that she was meant to wear for her wedding but she realised when it arrived that it wasn’t ‘the one’. Luckily she works close to our boutique in Alexandria, Sydney and a visit during her lunch break paid off with Bea finding the 'Seraphina' gown from our WILD HEARTS collection.
“The fit was so flattering and feminine. I loved the classic and romantic yet modern style of the dress. I knew I would never regret my choice!”
Bea wore a narrow single tier veil and belt from Karen Willis Holmes with her lace Seraphina gown. She also added an Anna Campbell organza overskirt for the ceremony.
Gown hunting tips
“Trust your gut. It’s about how the dress makes you feel. And it will all work out in the end!”
