Background
How did you meet your (now) husband? Scott and I were a work romance – Whilst Scott doesn’t work for the same company as I do, he was involved on a large project with myself. Took a while for me to decipher the hidden little messages, and late night Friday calls – but eventually it clicked that it may be more than a professional working relationship
How long have you been together? 2 years
Do you have a proposal story? Christmas morning, I was in my PJS – and after his failed attempt for last years Christmas present (a chopping board and a knife), this year he definitely stepped it up! Funny enough I always thought I would be dulled up, nails done – but no I was in my PJS without my hair done. Argh!
The Wedding
What was your wedding date? 23.7.16
Location (Ceremony and Reception)
Where? Zest Waterfront Venues and Mosman Church
What made you choose there? Both Scott and I love water and beaches! They are also known for their high quality food – food was superb!
How did you find it? Recommendations
How was the weather on the day? It was SO windy, but the sun was shining so I can’t complain
What made you decide to get married on this particular date? Availability.
The Wedding Details
Theme? It’s really difficult to pinpoint one theme for my wedding – but there were a few things that I consistently loved – Rustic theme, although difficult to have when you have a wedding of 220 people, I LOVE Natives and love the Hollywood glamour, vintage look. One would argue that these themes would not compliment – but somehow it all worked out!
Where did you draw your inspiration/ideas from? I have followed so many instgram accounts, including Karen Willis Holmes and loved Pinterest .. USE SOCIAL!
Were any aspects of your wedding D.I.Y? If so What? My wedding favors were DIY – succulents wrapped in hessian
Bridal Party
Bridesmaids – who/relationship? Older Sister
Groomsmen – who/relationship? Step Brother
Flower girls/Page boys – who/relationship? – Nieces, nephews and God son
Wedding Gown (the most important part!)
How many gowns did you try? To be honest, this was one of the first dresses I tried one and despite trying on many different dresses, I could not stop thinking about it ! I loved the sparkle!
Where did you purchase your gown from (which store or stockist)? Paddington, Sydney
What did you especially like about your gown? I loved the sparkle, how it sculptured by body, it was elegant, yes not over the top!
Fashion
Who is your bridesmaid dress supplier? Carla Zampatti
Where did you get the groom and groomsmen’s suits? Myer – Gibson
What accessories did you choose to finish your gown and also for those in your bridal party? Given my wedding was in Winter, I thought it was perfect to have a fox fur wrap to complimenet my dress. And boy I needed it on the day given the wind. I bought my vintage fur from Forever Vintage at Fivedock.
Where did you get your shoes from? Wittner
Did you wear a veil/headpiece? Where did you get this from? From Karen Willis Holmes

- Your partner’s opinion is the only opinion that matters
- If you see something you like on social, there is nothing wrong with asking a supplier to replicate it!
What advice would you give brides searching for their wedding gown? GO to KWH! Loads of choice – and the girls are wonderful.
Anything extra that is special or you would like to share about your big day.
