How did you meet your partner? Daniel was the duty manager of the pub I worked at and hired me on the spot. We worked together for 6 months before he asked me out on a date.
How long have you been together? We got married a week before our 7 year anniversary.
Do you have a proposal story? We went on a picnic one evening at dusk, were drinking some red wine, and we began reflecting on how we started dating, nearly 7 years previous. I mentioned how he never actually asked me to be his girlfriend, we just fell into dating, and that was that. Daniel then said, 'Well Dominique, I know I never asked you to be my girlfriend...but I am asking you now to be my wife ...'
What was your wedding date? 18th November 2016
Location? Ironbark Hill, Hunter Valley
What made you choose there? As soon as we saw the venue we knew this was the place, with the vineyards, chapel and reception on site, sandstone and chandeliers, it was perfect.
How did you find it? Looking through websites of wedding venues in the Hunter Valley.
How was the weather on the day? Very warm, 41 degrees.
Was there a reason you decided to get married on this date? It was the closest date to our anniversary that the venue had open.
The Wedding Details

Wedding Dress (the most important part!)
Dominique looked stunning in our 'Mabel' gown from our WILD HEARTS collection - in stores now.
What made you decide to come into Karen Willis Holmes? From the moment we were engaged, I began looking at gowns. As soon as I saw the 'Mabel', I knew this was the one. I still looked at many other dresses, but none of these compared to Karen Willis Holmes' designs.
Where have you seen our gowns (if at all) before? Instagram, various blogs, friends that have worn KWH designs.
How many gowns did you try? 5 gowns at KWH- which were all incredible!
Where did you purchase your gown from (which store or stockist)? Paddington, Sydney
What did you especially like about your gown? I loved the simplicity it held. I see it as a modern take on a traditional style.
Who is your bridesmaid dress supplier? Each dress was different, however, they were all purchased from David Jones.
Where did you get the groom and groomsmen’s suits? The suits were from Grand Frank Menswear.
What accessories did you choose to finish your gown and also for those in your bridal party? Each of my bridesmaids wore Samantha Wills earrings, which I gave to them as a gift on my wedding day. I wore a headpiece from Anna Campbell.
What advice would you give brides organizing their wedding? Have fun and enjoy the process, you won’t ever get to go through it again, so don’t rush any decisions and enjoy the moment.
What advice would you give brides searching for their wedding gown? Go and try them on - they look far different on the models then they do on you personally. A dress might suit you more than you would first realise.
