A rustic family farm, gorgeous native flowers, the perfect sequin gown and a couple so in love, what more could you possibly want in a wedding! Congratulations Emily and Micah!
On the proposal
Emily was due to go overseas for a month and right before she left, Micah organised a picnic on one of his family’s properties for the two of them. There were festoon lights, candles, rugs, cushions, home-baked brownies and even a fire pit in the shape of a love heart, and in that moment, Micah got down on one knee, opened the ring box upside down from nerves and asked Emily to marry him.
On the venue
Emily and Micah got married on another family farm between Warrick and Brisbane called ‘Yellunga’, with the location making sense to the couple as Micah had grown up on this property. “The farm for us is just a place we both love. When we first started dating, we would often go out for a day trip and just pack a picnic, so I guess it was a special place for us in that sense.”
All the styling details
With how stunning the property already is in mind, Emily and Micah wanted to showcase the views and the vibe it had to offer for their wedding. Beautiful native flowers in whites and soft pinks embellished their ceremony space and were featured in the bouquets. “As soon as we decided to go with the farm, I knew I wanted a clear marquee with lots of greenery – it just suited the whole farm/green/native vibe!”
After seeing the Cassie gown from our LUXE collection online, Emily thought it might be ‘the one’ but it wasn’t until she tried it on in our Brisbane boutique that she knew for sure. “The gown fitted me really well which I loved. I also really loved the open back and the sleeves which I had altered to be ¾ - the sleeves were probably my absolute favourite part come to think of it.”
Emily completed her look with a veil from Karen Willis Holmes, earrings from Samantha Wills, shoes from Jo Mercer and a clutch from Country Road.
Gown hunting tips
“Go with something that suits you and your body type, not something that looked good on a Pinterest wedding!”
What does love mean to you?
“At the core of every human soul is the deep desire to be loved. To know this love, deeply, with unwavering confidence is what brings your soul to life.”
