Harriet and Ben wanted a venue that reflected the natural beauty of New Zealand's North Island and boy did they find it in the stunning Ataahua Garden. Intimate, romantic and fuss-free this wedding is the perfect example of how sometimes less is more.
On the proposal
"We meet at university in New Zealand. He was my neighbour. After being together 9 years, Ben proposed in Margaret River on the beach. It was low key and perfect."
On the venue
Harriet and Ben wanted a venue where they could host both the ceremony and reception and that was naturally beautiful so when they found Ataahua Garden on Instagram, they couldn't believe their luck. "This venue was perfect as it had stunning gardens and was very natural."
All the styling details
Choosing such a naturally beautiful location lead these two to keep the decoration minimal, choosing to add just small pops of colour with floral installations in deep crimson and magenta. "The venue and my florist had done a lot of weddings so they were really good to talk to"
Harriet looked breathtaking in the Leonie/Alexia combination gown from our D.Y.G. Collection, purchased from our Melbourne boutique. "I had seen a lot of Karen Willis Holmes gowns through social media and so knew they were the style I was looking for. I just loved the fit and the way the fabric fell on the Leonie/Alexia gown and so knew it was 'the one'".
"There are so many different ideas and standards that you feel like you have to live up to but it is important to think about what is important to you and stick to it."
