Angelea, owner of Blanc de Blanc Bridal boutique in Pittsburgh, Pensylvania has one of the prettiest, most elegant stores we have seen! Stocking some of the most enviable international designers including KWH, we just adore their modern aesthetic, which sings out to the bold, daring yet forever timeless bride.
The new store has opened its doors in an airy lofted firehouse, offering a refreshing, unique and non-traditional atmosphere for their brides. Their mission is simple "to make finding your dream wedding gown an experience like no other. We understand that searching for the perfect bridal gown can be a long process, so we make sure that our brides have nothing but a pleasant and wonderful shopping experience. Assisting brides is not only our job but our passion as well". Lucky brides in the area will be able to visit our Karen Willis Holmes Trunk show which will be held in this stunning space from April 28- May 7. See more details below this post.
Your name? Angelea Kuruc
Store name? Blanc de Blanc Bridal Boutique
Where is your store located? Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in a historical firehouse.
Tell us a bit about yourself and how you started your store? I have always been into fashion and design for as long as I can remember. After going from my University in Fashion Design, I loved to New York City to work in the bridal fashion industry. I scored my first job working with a Brooklyn independent bridal designer and just fell in love with the indie bridal movement and I wanted to bring a really cool and modern boutique to my hometown of Pittsburgh, PA.
What does a typical day for you involve? I wake up, make a Nespresso and do a post on Instagram. Take my dog for a walk then get ready for my day and head into the boutique. Once I arrive at the office, I start by checking emails and meet with my bridal appointments for the day.
Why do you love your job? It is incredible to have the opportunity to meet with brides and amazing women from different backgrounds. I love hearing their love stories about how they met their fiance (e) and all of their unique wedding plans. The best part is helping them find their perfect wedding gown that they will wear on one of the best days of their lives.
What are your favourite KWH gowns and why? I fell in love with the 'Fontanne' gown because of all the intricate and directional bead work. That gown is truly a work of art and I am in “awe” every time I see a photo of the 'Fontanne'.
What is it your clients love about a KWH gown and who do you see as the ‘KWH bride’? My brides love how different the KWH collection is from all of the bridal gowns they see out there. The KWH bride is a woman who wants to make a bold and classy fashion statement on their wedding day.
Any great proposal stories from clients you have worked with? One of my bride’s fiance tricked her into thinking they were going to a wedding in Miami and he made a fake invitation and everything. He flew the bride's family down as well and he proposed to her with her friends and family all around.
What are your tips or advice for brides searching for their gown? Stay true to yourself and the vision that you have for your wedding day. Choose a gown that makes you feel like the best version of yourself and something that you don’t want to take off.
What is your coffee order? Depending on the weather, hot or iced black coffee.
Favourite city? Florence, Italy. That city is just magical
Best way to spend $50? A bottle of wine or a few, some snacks and a night with my closest girlfriends.
Best advice you ever received? Follow your heart and do what it takes to pursue your dreams.
Anything else you would like to share with brides-to-be about your store and what you offer? Our boutique offers an intimate shopping experience for brides who are wanting a modern and unique bridal boutique.
