There is just something so romantic about fall weddings. Perhaps it's the way the foliage starts to change, the crispness in the air or the evenings spend snuggled up with your loved ones in front of the fire. Whatever it may be we're utterly in love with everything about today's stunning New York autumnal wedding! Congrats Isabelle + Jonathan!
On the proposal
"Jonathan did a great job keeping the proposal a secret, I had no idea! He told me one of his clients had given him free tickets to a sunset boat cruise and so I was not suspicious at all and just thought we were having a low key evening so imagine my surprised when proposed right near the Statue of Liberty. To top the night off he had organised a surprise party so we could celebrate with all our friends!"
On the venue
We knew we were in for a treat when we heard Isabelle had chosen the rooftop of Studio 450, in NYC. This is where we show our collections at One Fine Day and are obsessed with the venue!
"It was everything I was looking for. Elegant, naturally beautiful and very New York."
All the styling details
Isabelle knew she wanted that simplicity - and the day's styling came through as elegant and sophisticated, with most elements being DIY (Isabelle works in the fashion industry and is clearly very talented!) "I just wanted everything to be black and white, so I guess monochromatic would be my theme.
Isabelle wore our BESPOKE Selena gown, from Karen Willis Holmes New York.
"I have walked passed Karen Willis Holmes in Soho - NY a million times and always loved the dresses. Funnily enough, I wasn't actually supposed to shop for a dress at all as I had already designed a dress and was going to make it, but my cousin and sister insisted I go try on some dresses. I only made one appointment and said yes to my dress at Karen Willis Holmes.
I LOVED everything about my dress. I always said I would never wear a ball gown, but once I tried it on, it was all I wanted to wear. The lace was so beautiful, the layers and layers made me feel so pretty, and the small details like the velvet belt and corset tie at back just brought it all together."
Isabelle chose to not wear a veil but to make a statement in Jimmy Choo heels. All of the accessories she wore were from friends or family - adding a very personal touch to her look.
"Get a coordinator (even if its just a day-of one) and if your DIY, don't wait until the last minute!!"
Gown hunting tips
"You will know when you put it on if it's the one. There was NO DOUBT I was purchasing mine once I had tried it on."
