Lauren & Dan's Melbourne Brewery Wedding

Lauren & Dan's Melbourne Brewery Wedding

They saw each other in the pub one and simply got chatting. A romance blossomed from that night and 5 years later, they exchanged vows in the stunning space at Mountain Goat Brewery in Melbourne.  Their wedding was the epitome of a classic Melbourne wedding- a moody, industrial setting in the back streets of Richmond full of stunning greenery by Badlands & Co., photos of the beautiful couple walking through the streets lined with red brick buildings that winded down to the Yarra river where they spent a few moments with each other, soaking in the magical day they were having.  Their gorgeous niece, Lucy accompanied them which added an unforgettable fun and playful twist to their photos, shot by Oy Photography.  Back in the Brewery, they partied and celebrated with their nearest and dearest, flipping a custom made 'All in' poker chip to help them decide what their First Dance song would be as the sun set on a glorious Melbourne Spring day.

How did you meet your (now) husband? We were both out with friends and happened to be at the same pub.  Nobody knew each other, we just got talking.

How long have you been together? 5 years

Do you have a proposal story? Dan proposed by putting the 1st present (the ring) under the Christmas tree.  I'm a little Christmas obsessed normally so it was a really special proposal.

The Wedding

What was your wedding date? 15th October 2016

Location (Ceremony and Reception)

Where? Mountain Goat Brewery- Richmond

What made you choose there? It is a great industrial space.  Very relaxed and it was not too far to travel.

How did you find it? I found it from a lot of googling!

How was the weather on the day? Perfect! 21 degrees and sunshine.  Although it was a little windy.

What made you decide to get married on this particular date? Venue availability and it fitted in and around AFL finals, the races & other engagements.  We have our guests convenience in mind.

Where did you get your shoes from? Reiss

Did you wear a veil/headpiece? Where did you get this from? I wore a floral crown from Badlands & Co, my Florist.

What advice would you give brides organizing their wedding? If you can, find a stylist who can help you stay on track & make all those ideas in your head come to life!

What advice would you give brides searching for their wedding gown? Try everything on.  It might look different than on the hanger.

Anything extra that is special or you would like to share about your big day?
The 'All in' custom made poker chips was a present from me to Dan on the day.  He loved it.  The favours were individually boxed Nutella donuts & dessert was an all you can eat ice cream cart by Billy Van Creamery.

Something New? Almost everything really!

Something Borrowed? Our celebrant! She did my brother's wedding two years ago.

Something Blue? A heart shaped piece of dads old shirt was sewn onto the back of my dress.
