Liz & Drew's Melbourne Loft Wedding

Liz & Drew's Melbourne Loft Wedding

A thunderstorm forecast turned out to be a blessing in disguise for this couple, forcing them to move their wedding from the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens to the striking Panama Dining Room and saving them from a ceremony outside in 35 degree heat. Their good fortune didn't stop there, Liz and Drew's wedding was truly beautiful from start to finish and they even managed to include a pit stop to Messina!

On the proposal
Drew proposed during a getaway to Bali on a cliff overlooking the water at sunset. He’d arranged for some cocktails to be brought up, and the resort staff had set up a table with a lovely little flower arrangement on it. “Even though the clouds obscured the setting sun it will always be one of my favourite sunsets!”

On the venue
The style of the Panama Dining Room in Fitzroy, Melbourne was perfect for this couple, with its warehouse vibe, big arched windows and abundance of greenery. It was the first venue that Liz and Drew looked at and achieved their biggest priority of having a communal feel for their guests.

All the styling details
With the venue as their inspiration, Liz and Drew continued with the theme of foliage and native flowers. “The Panama Dining Room is such a beautiful venue with exposed brick walls, incredible arched windows and lots of indoor plants, so we barely had to add anything to make it look amazing.”

The Dress
Liz looked stunning in the 'Shelly/Samantha' combination from our D.Y.G collection from our boutique in Armadale- Melbourne
“I used to walk past the Armadale KWH boutique every day on my way to the gym and always loved the beautiful gowns in the window.”

Accessorising
Liz kept her accessories simple with a pair of delicate handmade earrings from Heatherly Designs and a blunt edge single layer Karen Willis Holmes veil.

Advice
“Figure out the 3 or 4 things that matter most to you and your partner and focus your attention on choosing the best of those, rather than spending all your energy on a million tiny decisions.”
