How did you meet your partner? We met on a night out when we were 18 years old!
How long have you been together? On and off for 13 years.
Do you have a proposal story? Jake proposed while we were holidaying in the Whitsundays. He had organized a private cabana on the beach for dinner and proposed then. It turned out to be cyclonic weather though, so we got soaking wet walking to the cabana! It was lovely none the less.
What was your wedding date? 20th October 2017
Location? Victoria Park Golf Course, Brisbane
What made you choose there? They could cater for the ceremony and the reception which made it easier for our guests, and I also loved the idea of having jacaranda trees in full bloom for our photos. They were out on the day and it was beautiful!
How did you find it? We looked at a few different venues in Brisbane and this worked for us.
How was the weather on the day? Perfect! It had been raining all week, but the sun came out beautifully on the day.
Was there a reason you decided to get married on this date? We wanted to get married in October so we could have the jacaranda trees in our photos, and this date was available!

Wedding Gown (the most important part!)
Michelle looked stunning in the D.Y.G 'Gerry/Joni' combination.
What made you decide to come into Karen Willis Holmes? I love the materials and the quality of the gowns, I tried on so many gowns and they just seemed cheap to be honest. As soon as I tried on the 'Gerry/Joni' gown at Karen Willis Holmes gown I knew I had to have it!
Where have you seen our gowns (if at all) before? I had seen them on a friend of a friend who had been married a few years prior, and I also followed Karen Willis Holmes on Instagram.
How many gowns did you try? Maybe 10 different gowns all up?
Where did you purchase your gown from (which store or stockist)? Karen Willis Holmes - Paddington, QLD.
What did you especially like about your gown? I loved the organza skirt and the way it fell, the horsehair at the bottom of the skirt made it sit so beautifully. No other gown I tried on had that, they weren’t even close!
Who is your bridesmaid dress supplier? Shona Joy
What advice would you give brides organising their wedding? Just take it bit by bit, and all of a sudden it will all come together.
