How did you meet your partner? We met when we were in year 7 through a mutual friend, we live in a smallish country town and always kept in touch over the years and remained good friends and started dating when we were 17.
How long have you been together? 9 years this September
Do you have a proposal story? We went to Moreton Island in our boats for the day with family and friends, I was really excited as I've never been there. We decided to climb one of the large sand dunes together I remember getting half way and just being absolutely exhausted and I said to Mitch joking I think I'm just going to turn around here the view is good enough he then replied angrily “just get to the top!” Jokingly, I replied why are you going to propose not even thinking anything of it because the jokes became a regular thing after being together for 7 years and owning a home for over 2. When we got to the top we sat down to catch our breath and took in the amazing view, Mitch then said to me come over here and see what the view is like from this side to which is replied absolutely exhausted “you're kidding me, you're making me walk further after I've just climbed up that massive sand dune?!” Mitch again quite short said to me “just do it!” it was there that he FINALLY got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
What was your wedding date? 5th May 2017
Location? Cedar Creek Lodges Amphitheatre, Tamborine Mountain, QLD.
What made you choose there? We looked at a number of venues and wanted something a bit different to your normal marquee or room at a venue. Our Ceremony was on a beautiful large timber platform/deck surrounded by rainforest and flowing creeks.
How did you find it? After endless hours of googling venues.
Location? Cedar Creek Lodges - Tamborine Mountain, QLD
What made you choose there? Mitch and I are outdoors people especially Mitch with being a Sugarcane farmer, we loved the vibe from the venue with it all being outdoors and being surrounded by nature, it had a very calm unique vibe that we just loved.
How did you find it? Google
How was the weather on the day? Beautiful and sunny
Was there a reason you decided to get married on this date? No, we were quite limited to dates with Mitch being a farmer and working around harvest time and I always knew that I wanted at least a year to plan so the 5th of May was one of the available dates that worked well for us.

What advice would you give brides organizing their wedding? Be organised and have a spreadsheet with all your expenses and payments made so that in the lead up to the wedding you know exactly where you're at financially and don’t have any unexpected surprises. Also, remember the real meaning of the day, you and your partner are number one. You need to do what is best for you both - it is your wedding, no one else's. Don’t waste your precious energy on things that in the bigger scheme of things don't matter. Also, soak up every minute of your beautiful day because it just goes so fast and feels like a blur. Last of all don’t forget to let your hair down and have a ball!
What advice would you give brides searching for their wedding gown? Be open minded and listen to your gut when you feel you have found the dress that you love. I went back and tried on my dress 3 times to reassure myself and every time I loved it more and more.

Celebrant - The Wedding Wanderer - Laurie Pollard - The first time I spoke to Laurie at a wedding expo in Brisbane we just instantly clicked, Laurie wasn’t like any other celebrant I'd seen she met with us numerous times which just felt like we were friends catching up and helped us write our own unique wedding vows that we loved and everyone commented on. I really believe that you both need to have a great connection with your celebrant and I'm so grateful that we found Laurie because not only did we have an amazing celebrant we have also gained a beautiful friend.
