Appointment or Walk In?

Generally speaking we don’t work by appointment; you can just come into the boutique at a time that suits. If we are busy at the time you come in, we will ask you to leave your name and phone number so that we can call you back as soon as possible.

In our busiest months of January and February we now offer appointment in our boutiques as follows:

SYDNEY BOUTIQUE, if you would prefer to make a specific time, we will have one change room available to book by appointment on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays and two change rooms available to book by appointment on Saturdays.

MELBOURNE BOUTIQUE, if you would prefer to make a specific time, we will have one change room available to book by appointment on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays and two change rooms available to book by appointment on Saturdays.

BRISBANE BOUTIQUE, if you would prefer to make a specific time, we will have one change room available to book by appointment on Thursdays and Fridays and two change rooms available to book by appointment on Saturdays.

PERTH BOUTIQUE, if you would prefer to make a specific time, one change room available to book by appointments on Saturdays. Appointments preferred, but walk in welcome. To make an appointment with the Perth boutique please contact directly via perth@karenwillisholmes.com or (08) 9381 5551.

How long are appointment times?

We allot 1 or 1.5 hour depending on the boutique, for your initial bridal appointment.  Because we are a boutique store, all gowns are out for browsing, and we have found this is the perfect amount of time to select your favourites and try them on. 

Can I bring a large party to my appointment?

We don’t have a limit on your party, however our boutiques are small, and with limited seating. To make the most out of your appointment we recommend bringing 1-2 trusted family members or friends.  You will appreciate the focused opinions of a trusted few!

How does payment work when I have found my dress?

For gowns from the BESPOKE and WILD HEARTS Collections, we ask for a 50% up front deposit, so that we can start work on your order.  The remaining balance is due at your first fitting.

For gowns from the KWH by KAREN WILLIS HOLMES Collection, as these gowns are sold from stock we require the gown to be paid in full at time of purchase.

What is the lead time on your gowns?

For gowns from the BESPOKE Collection, these gowns are made in Australia and are made to order to a standard size.  We recommend a booking lead time of 6 – 8 months, however because we make these gowns in our own workroom we can work with shorter time frames.

For gowns from the WILD HEARTS Collection, these gowns are made in Australia and are available in sizes AUS/ UK 4 – 16 / US 0 – 12.  The booking lead time is a minimum of 6 – 8 months.

Gowns from the KWH by KAREN WILLIS HOLMES Collection are sold from stock in sizes AUS/ UK 4 – 16 / US 0 – 12.  These gowns are sold on a first come first serve basis.

What if my wedding is in a month?

We do carry stock of some gowns or we can make a BESPOKE gown in short timeframes if we have all the fabric and time in our production calendar to fit your order in.  While we can work with shorter time frames, we don’t recommend you leave it this late, as we can usually make most of our gowns, but not all of them in a short time frame.

I have ordered my dress, now what?

If you have ordered the hem package with your gown, someone will contact you to arrange fitting appointment with you.  Appointments are made on a first come first serve basis and during our busy times we do fill up fast.  These fitting appointments usually occur 6 – 8 and 3 – 4 weeks from your wedding date.  In the meantime you will need to find your wedding shoes as well as any undergarments you plan on wearing with the gown.  We recommend nude and seamless.

Do you have in-house seamstresses?

For our boutiques across Australia, we have experienced in-house seamstresses who will hem your wedding gown to perfection!    For our boutique in New York we offer brides a list of highly recommended seamstresses to choose from.
